Conference Speaker Biography Page

Jerry Ensminger is a former Marine Corp Drill Instructor and is one of the co-founders of the military contaminated water advocacy group “The Few, The Proud, The Forgotten.” Jerry will speak at the National Conference on Disease Clusters.  We will also have a showing of Semper Fi: Always Faithful and Jerry will answer questions after the film screening.

Semper Fi: Always Faithful is a riveting documentary that exposes a Marine Corps cover-up of one of the largest drinking water contamination incidents in American history.

Jerry in his own words:

I have been fighting for justice in the Camp Lejeune drinking water contamination issue for 15 years. My fight has given me a very unique prospective into our country’s programs and policies which are contributing to disease clusters and the overall demise of public health in general.

Part of that time was spent at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina; that’s where his daughter Janey was born.

Health officials believe that as many as one million people may have been exposed to water laced with cancer-causing chemicals.

Janey Ensminger died of leukemia in 1985 at the age of 9.

Jerry Ensminger takes the battle to Washington, where the Janey Ensminger Act has been signed into law by President Obama.
