Mission
To promote vibrant, healthy communities and to prevent environmentally-related disease through empowerment and supportive partnerships.

Vision

National Disease Clusters Alliance (NDCA) our organization is committed to swiftly identifying and responding to emerging disease clusters. Identification will be accomplished using existing data sources while advocating and promoting new and innovative data sources. Response will be provided in the form of partnering with, and acting as a liaison between appropriate governmental agencies and communities. We aid in directing existing assistance and education resources to communities, Native American tribes, government agencies, and sharing with other organizations throughout the world. We are a clearinghouse of information, technology and methodologies relating to cluster anomalies. We create new protocols of response to cluster/anomalies and our responses are transparent, innovative and forward thinking.

We also seek to avoid future disease clusters by supporting policies and practices that reduce exposure to known disease-causing agents.

Operating Principles:

Integrity, transparency, partnership, compassion and empowerment.

Goals

The National Disease Cluster Alliance (NDCA) seeks to:
• Provide a source of trusted and credible information and technical assistance for communities who are seeking answers about a disease cluster in their midst;
• Create the model for disease cluster response, including the generation of sound science and data, the creation of adequate protocols, and community involvement and participation for researching, identifying and responding to disease clusters; and
• Allow concerned communities to have confidence that clusters will be found and adequately addressed and in the disease response process and findings.

Ultimately, NDCA will respond to communities facing environmentally-related disease in a model similar to that of the Red Cross’ disaster-response model. When communities have questions about environmentally-related disease clusters, NDCA and its tools will assist them in finding the answers.
